The Lighthouse

They say, you grow wiser and wiser with age,
And that, you complete the full circle someday and are a sage.
Here I am today, my old friend, one step from fulfillment,
One step from making all my life worth every moment.
When I look back, everything just flashes across like a dream,
As if it was yesterday only; the coffee and the whipped cream.
Diving in shallow waters from the edge of the Boardwalk,
Drawing ducks and cars by connecting the stars,
Going fishing on Sundays and singing jingle bells,
Hiding in the elephant grass and looking for live sea shells,
I remember Mr. Jones, the tugboat, and the stories of a mermaid,
Beach riding the bike and making fortress from sand,
And walking the Silver Road of sunshine, on the waves, with my hand.
You were there at all times, watching me grow,
Sitting on the rocks paddling feet against the waves,
My Romance bloomed in your grace and we observe gratitude.
I can see you graciously smiling at me every day,
Gave me a direction and showed me the way.
You were there, by my side, thru the seven ages of my lifetime,
Selflessly strengthened my character; personified yourself in me,
Our chemistry evolved between the silences of dreams,
Your guiding light has helped millions from loosing track in misty realms.
You’ve stood the test of times
And been my benefactor all my life,
You’ve liberated me, in a way,
As if you’re my quantum of solace.
When I think of you, I think of a Paradise within a Paradise,
Like the Eyes of the Ocean,
With your picturesque and sublime grandeur,
Standing Proud and Tall like a Spartan Warrior: Never Retreat, Never Surrender.
With wind in my hair and the sand in my feet,
I salute you, my Friend, for just being there with me…forever.
